Govee 16.4ft LED Strip Lights Drop to Pocket Change, Home Decoration Now Less Than

Govee has become Philips Hue’s main competitor by making great smart lighting products that don’t cost a lot of money. When you compare a 10-foot Philips Hue light strip which normally costs $75 (but is on sale for $46 on Black Friday) to this 16.4-foot Govee RGBIC strip which normally costs $14 but is on sale for $9.99 for the long Black Friday weekend on Amazon, the price difference is huge. This deal is good through the weekend, as long as there is still stock.

Many Colors on One Strip

RGBIC technology is what makes this product stand out: It lets the Govee strip show multiple colors at the same time along a single line instead of making the whole strip glow one solid color like regular RGB strips. You can have flowing rainbows, color waves or themed patterns that move across your wall, desk, or bedroom ceiling. This technology feels more expensive than the low price suggests because the visual effect is much better than basic single-color strips.

The Govee Home app gives you full control over everything: It’s much more useful than a simple infrared remote that you would probably lose between the couch cushions. You can adjust the brightness levels, make your own color combinations from a palette of 16 million colors, and save your favorite settings for quick access. The app also has a community feature where users can show off their own lighting designs and you can look through these creative setups and use them on your own strip with just one tap. Govee regularly adds new AI-generated themes to the app so your lighting options keep getting better even after you buy it.

The built-in high-sensitivity microphone in music sync mode picks up sound and turns it into synchronized lighting effects right away. You can choose from 11 different music modes that respond differently to bass, treble, or overall rhythm. You can change the mic sensitivity in the app to fit the acoustics of your room and whether you’re playing music quietly or having a big party.

There are more than 64 preset scenes to choose from, each based on a different mood or occasion. These range from relaxing movie night scenes to lively party scenes and holiday-specific themes: Each scene uses a unique set of colors, brightness levels, and animation speeds to create lighting that matches what you’re doing. These presets are great if you don’t want to spend time changing settings but still want your space to look planned and polished.

For the adhesive backing to stick well, the surface must be clean and dry: Govee stresses that you should thoroughly clean the surface where you will be mounting the tape, as dust, hair, or moisture can make it less sticky. With a length of 16.4 feet, you can outline a medium-sized bedroom, wrap around a gaming desk setup, or add extra length to an entertainment center. The strip isn’t meant to be used outside because it isn’t weatherproof, but it sticks well to smooth surfaces like drywall, wood, or the back of furniture when used inside.

You can get over 16 feet of smart RGBIC lighting for $9.99 which is about $0.61 per foot and this is a lot less than it would have cost a few years ago. It’s easy to get into smart home lighting with this product because you can change the mood of a whole room for less than the cost of a couple of coffees.
