Interior Designer

NYC Architecture and Interiors studio seeks self-directed and organized individual to head growing interiors division. Position may be full or part time.

Tasks include:

• Manage all aspects of the design process from research and ideation, to creative conceptualization and design.

• Collaborate with team and clients to research and develop cohesive design plans & concepts.

• Lead project towards successful design and project implementation.

• Act as the interior design representative with clients and external subcontractors and contractors

• Present design recommendations & options to clients and management

• Act as a steward of client finances by monitoring client / projects budgets and placing orders

• Troubleshoot issues throughout design and implementation phases of project.

• Assistance in managing all aspects of projects from consultation to installation

• Creating design and furniture layouts via Vectorworks

• Sourcing hard materials, FFE and décor and pricing such items accordingly

• Creating Presentation Materials, including:

• Concept boards, tear sheets, slide decks

• Procuring & organizing samples for presentation purposes

• Onsite Project Tasks

• Survey existing spaces, measure on-site dimensions, document design characteristics, take photos for reference

• Site visits

• Supervision of Install

• Styling of Install

• General Design Project Management

• Obtain pricing and formal quotes on product, materials & textiles

• Creating & revising Specification Schedules (examples include: paint, plumbing

fixture, appliance, and lighting schedules)

• Creating & maintaining product specifications

• General:

• Communicating with team members, contractors, clients

• Tracking of orders

• Maintain the organization of resource library

• Assist with ordering samples

• Run project related errands

Excellent communication skills and experience working with clients is required. 5+ years of experience is a must.
