Best Indoor Waterparks & Family Pools in Metro Detroit

Waiting for warmer weather doesn’t mean water fun has to wait. When winter feels endless and kids are itching to move, indoor pools and waterparks offer the perfect escape from the cold — no sunscreen required. From splash pads and zero-entry pools to slides and lazy rivers, these family-friendly spots let you trade boots and coats for bathing suits and enjoy a few carefree hours of indoor fun. So grab the goggles, pack the swimsuits, and dive in — the warmth may be on its way, but the splashing can start now.

Make a splash at Goldfish Swim School, each locations offers open family swim sessions that allow you to enjoy the 90 degree pool and play toys!

The Summit pool is zero level entry and goes up to 3ft deep. They have toys out for the kids to play with, along with a small slide.  During the open swims the lap pool, lazy river, water slide, and the leisure pool are open for guests to enjoy.

The Dearborn natatorium includes a leisure pool with zero-depth entry, water slide, lazy river, bubble couch and spray amusements; a 25-yard long lap pool with a diving well and a drop slide; spa; and outdoor terrace.

The HAWK’s aquatic center features a lazy river, zero depth entry, lap swim lanes, a water slide, zip line and climbing wall, a rentable party room and three ADA accessible locker rooms, including a family locker room.

Kids can make a splash in the zero-entry pool with splash pad features, go for a spin in the whirlpool, take laps around the lazy river and see how many times they can ride down the inner tube slide. The aquatic center also features a bubble tub, hot tub and lap pools.

The Macomb Township Parks and Recreation Aquatics Center features two pool facilities and a whirlpool.  Enjoy a water slide, log run and lazy river/vortex with waterfall, zero depth entry area, play structure and floor geysers.

The Romulus indoor leisure pool includes a slide, lazy river, and spray water features. Be sure to call ahead and check on daily pool hours, as renovations are on going.

At the Troy indoor pool, kids can enjoy water slides for all ages, splash features, a lily pad to walk across, pool basketball, and a dedicated area for the littles!

The Warren Community Center Pool features water slides, a lazy river, splash pad and lap pool. Only available for Warren and Sterling Heights residents.

The YMCA – multiple locations

All YMCA locations have lap pools for swimming and three locations have family pools with splash features and slides. Membership is required to use the facilities.
