We’ve all witnessed the recent interior design shift. Creating a collected, curated, and characterful space is now the top priority among designers. As more and more of us opt for character over contemporary, vintage and antique-style decor has become the go-to choice for home design.
There are plenty of ways to bring warmth and charm into the home but there’s one accessory you can always count on – a rug. Bringing tactile texture, comfort and beautiful color and pattern to a room, a rug can also help to cleverly zone a space.
Adding to this year’s rug trends, vintage-lover Drew Michael Scott (or Lone Fox) has collaborated with homeware brand Joon Loloi to create a bespoke collection of soft furnishings, inspired by his love for the past. If you’re looking to bring some vintage flair into your home, there are 21 rugs and an assortment of 15 throw pillows.

‘The inspiration behind my collection comes primarily from antique tiles and the natural, weathered colors they acquire over time’, says Drew. ‘When I bought my 1929 Spanish-style home, my design approach evolved to embrace a deeper appreciation for antiques and vintage pieces. The unique tiles and patterns that were integral to the renovation of my home became a key influence. I wanted to capture the rich, worn-in textures and colors of these antique tiles and bring that same timeless, lived-in aesthetic into new spaces. By translating those patterns and shades into rugs, I’m able to evoke the warmth, history, and charm that antique elements can bring to a room.’

Woven with a subtle plaid, the Arlington rug would lift any room with its cozy pattern and pile. Introduce layers of texture by pairing with a velour sofa or headboard for a snug and homely combination.
With a pattern reminiscent of antique rugs, the Agoura rug takes inspiration from tradition. With its subdued color palette and faded finish, the Agoura combines the modern with the antique, making it the perfect accessory for a room of any style.
Inspired by the classic plaid print, the Baldwin rug is effortlessly cool in its simplicity. All rugs provide a room with warmth and depth, but the Baldwin does just that and more. It’s the perfect neutral choice that will enhance a space with subtle pattern and color.
While thrifting is fun, finding exactly what you’re looking for isn’t always easy. The Doheny rug has an antique quality that makes it trendy and eclectic and the best part is it’s available in various sizes, making it so easy to warm up a space of any size.
Drew opts for the Hancock rug in his snug room. Taking inspiration from the classic chequerboard pattern, he’s reimagined the style and given it a contemporary twist. The Hancock rug works particularly well in rooms lacking print, giving a space a strong dose of geometric goodness.
This rug feels particularly personal to Drew. He’s lifted the image directly from the 17th-century Belgian tapestry hanging in his living room. Place in an entryway or on a bare wall for a historic, eclectic touch.
Inspired by antique tapestries, the Hepburn pillow is elegant in both pattern and shape. Place at the center of a bed or on an armchair for an instant hit of vintage charm.
Made of textured lines, the Kerr pillow will lift a one-dimensional surface due to its one-of-a-kind composition that provides a cozy, plush quality.
Rich in hue and subtle in pattern, the Turner pillow is the perfect warming accessory that will enhance a sofa, bench, or chair.
About the collection
‘For me, rugs are the foundation and soul of a room,’ says Drew. ‘They play a pivotal role in setting the tone and atmosphere of a space. When I design, a rug is often the leading point that I tend to design around and that truly brings the room together. A rug has this magical ability to unite color palettes, harmonize textures and define zones within an open space. It’s more than just a decorative element – it adds warmth and comfort, grounding the furniture and enhancing the overall flow of the room.
Whether it’s bold and vibrant or subtle and neutral, a rug makes the space feel inviting, lived-in and thoughtfully curated. Without it, a room can feel incomplete or disjointed. Not to mention, it’s one of my favorite decor elements to add.’

‘My personal style is deeply embedded in this collaboration, and I feel like it shines through in every aspect’, Drew says. ‘All the rugs were photographed in my home in Los Angeles, which I believe perfectly captures the essence of my design aesthetic. It was amazing to see how seamlessly the rugs fit into the different rooms of my house. They not only complemented the overall vibe of my space but also enhanced it in ways that felt natural and effortless.’

‘I wanted to create something I was genuinely excited about – a collection that feels authentic to my design philosophy and lifestyle’, he says. ‘It was important for me to craft rugs that I would proudly incorporate into my own home, and it was such a rewarding experience to watch them transform the rooms. Each rug embodies a little piece of my vision, and seeing them come to life in my space was a true reflection of the personal touch I wanted to bring to this collaboration.’
