Interior Designer-Approved Amazon Finds For 2025 Trends

Updating your space can feel overwhelming, but rather than fully committing to major changes, the pros suggest embracing the latest trends bit by bit. 2025 is filled with various interior design trends, and it can be hard to decide which ones are best for your personality and your home.

So, we sought guidance from interior designers on identifying these trends and the different ways we can incorporate them into our homes. Minimalist accents and curvy furniture are some of the top trends of 2025—and you can start to pull into your home with some affordable finds from Amazon.

Top Interior Designer-Approved Home Decor Trends

Material Mixology

Interior designer Elana Mendelson insists we’ll see a major surge in “combining rustic charm with sleek modernity by blending natural and industrial materials in furniture and decor.” She explains, “This trend is really emerging from a desire for balanced interiors—comfort meets style. For those who want their homes to feel both chic and welcoming without complicated styling, try adding a small accent piece like a wood-and-metal lamp or a concrete planter or pairing linen throw pillows with a metallic side table for contrast.”

Functional Minimalism

Mendelson says we’re only seeing the beginning of functional minimalism and will continue to see more of it for years to come. “Born out of small-space living and a desire for more intentional homes, minimalism is getting an update with a focus on useful simplicity,” she tells Southern Living. “This trend really speaks to people who love an organized, clean look but don’t want to part with personality. To achieve this simple yet satisfying trend, you can start by decluttering, only keeping items that bring joy or serve multiple purposes. Swap bulky furniture, like a sofa bed or storage bench, for space-saving designs, organize open shelving with matching baskets to reduce visual clutter and highlight meaningful items like family photos, heirlooms, or travel keepsakes to easily achieve your pared-back decor goals.”

Playful Maximalism

On the other hand, Elizabeth Rees, the founder of one of our favorite wallpaper brands, Chasing Paper, states that you can go the opposite route and opt for a more maximalist approach. “Playful maximalism is such a joyful trend,’ she begins. “It’s all about breaking the rules and embracing your unique style. Bold patterns, vibrant colors, and layered textures work together to create spaces bursting with personality and energy. I love how it invites you to mix and match, whether it’s pairing a colorful wallpaper with vintage furniture or layering art pieces that make you smile. This trend reminds us that our homes are meant to be fun, creative, and unapologetically us.”

The New Neutrals: Chocolate Brown and Earth Tones

You can forget standard black, white, and gray decor, according to interior designer and founder of Embee Interiors, Marta Balazs. “Chocolate brown and a rich palette of earthy hues are set to dominate interiors in 2025,” she reports. “These warm, grounding tones create depth and bring a sense of coziness to any room. This shift is inspired by a growing desire for homes that feel grounded and connected to nature, a counterbalance to the sterility of minimalist trends. Start small with textiles like throw pillows or curtains, or make a bold statement with chocolate brown walls. Pair these shades with natural materials like wood, rattan, or linen for a harmonious look.” She suggests this trend for “anyone looking to create a cocooning and intimate environment at home, particularly those embracing layered, textured spaces.”

Mixed Metals

“Mixing a matte metal element with natural wood, if done right, the effect will be rich and spectacular,” insists Cristiana Crin, lead designer and founder of Perpetuum Designs. She recommends, “Lighting and light fixtures will probably be the easiest route to go to achieve the look. Bringing a large fixture with a metal structure and rattan fabric as a finishing element will, on its own, be an incredible piece of decor. Brass faucets next to a green olive tile and a natural oak-stained cabinet would be another great combination. The trend is for those looking for a layered, bespoke environment.”

Color Drenching

Amazon

Interior expert and content creator Emily Auffrey appreciates the effect of color drenching, which is “using a single color or tonal variations of it to create a fully immersive space.” “Choose a bold shade like emerald green or terracotta and extend it to your walls, curtains, and even decorative accessories for a cohesive look,” she advises. “The mood it gives is dependent on the lighting situation of the room and the LRV (light reflective value) of your paint. It’s a pushback against minimalism, influenced by maximalist trends and the resurgence of mood-enhancing interiors.”

Modern Brutalism

Auffrey says another extreme trend to embrace this year is modern brutalism. “It’s a reinterpretation of brutalism, blending raw, industrial materials like concrete, steel, and glass with softer, modern touches,” she explains. “It’s influenced by the architectural brutalist movement of the 1950s-70s, updated for today’s minimalist sensibilities. Introduce concrete planters, sleek metal shelving, or textured plaster walls paired with warm wood and soft textiles for balance. Fans of industrial chic and minimalist design with a desire for bold, statement-making materials will love it.”

Color Blocking

Amazon

Christin Cieslarski, founder of My Homier Home, is excited about color blocking coming back in 2025. “I first saw this in Studio McGee’s article back in November. This is the art of choosing two to three colors to paint certain ‘block’ sections in your room. This could be different walls, the lower cabinets versus the upper cabinets, or even two different colors on one wall. This is perfect for spaces in your home with distinct sections and feels like they need a little extra depth to come to life.” The easiest way to incorporate this trend into your home is through color-blocked accents until you’re ready to commit.

Unexpected Red Theory

Red isn’t only taking over our closets but also our homes. Interior designer at Mackenzie Collier Interiors, Alex Robinson tells us red is “a prominent trend, appearing across decor, furniture, and accessories in a variety of ways. Adding a touch of red to any space brings an unpredictable flair to the design, introducing some depth and dimension. Red is known for adding warmth to a space, stimulating the mind, and evoking a sense of excitement. Anything from table lamps [to] accent chairs [to] throw pillows, curtains, bedding, or accent tables in red can be showcased through several different accessories and furniture items. This draws attention and sparks curiosity within a space.”

Biophilic Design

Amazon

“The idea of ‘bringing the outside in’ has been around for decades, but biophilic design takes it further by incorporating nature and natural motifs in an intentional way as a form of wellness and self-care,” says Cheryl Rosenberg, founder of Piña Home. “Since the COVID pandemic, more and more medical research has shown how wellness-centered interiors affect our psychological and physiological health. To bring biophilic vibes into your home: choose linen pillows and wool rugs with earthy colors like rich jungly greens and warm terracotta pinks and browns; think Pantone’s color of the year, Mocha Mousse. Add a few high-quality furniture pieces with organic rounded shapes or crafted from solid wood in natural finishes accented with woven rattan. I’m also seeing gorgeous light fixtures made with rattan or wrapped in thin rope and sculptural resin lighting shaped like flowers and leafy vines.”

Natural Toned Kitchens

Amazon

“White kitchens are out, and warm wood and natural walnut with depth and refined richness are in,” according to interior pro Sarah Pickard. “Clients who have dark kitchens and want to lighten them but want to keep existing cabinetry have embraced this trend. Rift oak cabinetry is very much on trend—and stained a light to medium stain. This warm tone also mixes nicely with painted cabinets on uppers or lowers as a combination of finishes.”

Opulence

Amazon

You can expect to see a lot of “opulence,” says founder of CBB Design Firm, Colleen Bennett. Rather than spending an arm and a leg, she says luxurious color combos like “black and gold” can instantly dress up your space. “The best way to incorporate this is to get fabulous lamps, coffee tables, anything that’s kind of got some bling. You can use fabulous black and white wallpapers with patterns as well.”

Polished Brass Accents

Amazon

“Materials for fixtures, fittings, and accents in kitchens and baths are often cyclical—it seems we’ve all moved to stainless steel accents at the same time, or matte black, etc., but it’s coming back to polished brass,” explains Courtnay Tartt Elias, creative director of Creative Tonic Design. “It is timeless and doesn’t look too-of-the-moment, wears well over time, and it’s warm, golden tone pairs well with other metals as well as fitting seamlessly with design styles from traditional to modern. If you are considering a full-scale renovation of your kitchen or bath this year, look at polished brass faucets, appliance accents, and lighting. For those who are looking for smaller updates, switching existing cabinet hardware, smaller lighting fixtures, or decorative accents is a great way to embrace the soft luster of polished brass.”

Colorful Appliances

Amazon

Elias also recommends adding color to your space through functional appliances. “Appliance interiors don’t have to be plain white anymore! The foodie who appreciates the look of food as much as the taste and those who appreciate the incredible organization and contrasts in the kitchen are the two that come to mind. I also think anyone with a sleek, modern kitchen will be thrilled to add these new color options.”
