Designers Predict the 9 Bedroom Colors That Will Dominate in 2025

A new year brings new possibilities, especially when it comes to refreshing your home. If your bedroom feels a little uninspired, one simple way to transform it is by adding a fresh coat of paint. However, choosing the perfect color can feel overwhelming with so many options available.

Taking some inspiration from design trends can help. According to interior designer Regan Billingsley, many designers predict this year’s design trends will center on infusing personality into homes by layering a mix of shapes and colors. “As part of this, we expect paint colors to play a key role in setting the stage for these layered looks—whether with warm tones, cool tones, or a blend of both.”

So, how do you pick the right one? We asked designers to share the colors they anticipate will trend this year. Here are the top bedroom paint colors for 2025, according to the experts.

Farrow & Ball

Farrow & Ball Stone Blue

2025 is all about adding luxurious touches, which is exactly why interior designer Samantha Lund recommends Stone Blue. “The top bedroom paint colors of 2025 are all about creating spaces that feel luxurious, personal, and effortlessly calming,” she says. “Farrow & Ball’s Stone Blue, a soft and timeless dusty blue, is perfect for bringing a serene yet uplifting vibe to any bedroom.”

This color particularly complements more traditional to contemporary spaces and also looks beautiful in a home office that needs a little color.

Farrow & Ball

Farrow & Ball Brinjal

Lund also highlights Brinjal—a deep and moody plum—as one of the top paint colors this year. “It adds warmth and a touch of drama for those who want their space to feel rich and bold without being overwhelming.”

This color is also a nice alternative to burgundy—which, while certainly on-trend for 2025, might be a bit dark for bedrooms yet evokes a similar feeling.

Farrow & Ball

Farrow & Ball Cola

Pantone’s Color of the Year is the much-hyped Mocha Mousse, and while Cola isn’t exactly the same hue, this warm brown color feels grounded and cozy, according to Lund. “It’s perfect for layering with natural textures,” she says. “I’m predicting these colors because they balance sophistication and comfort in a way that feels fresh and timeless, which is exactly what we’re craving in our homes right now.”

This deep color is a fantastic choice for making a smaller guest room extra chic, especially when paired with contrasting white linens.

Benjamin Moore

Benjamin Moore Chocolate Mousse

On the other hand, those seeking a lighter hue should opt for Chocolate Mousse by Benjamin Moore. “It exudes all the things that a bedroom should be: luxurious and relaxing,” says interior designer Audrey Frances Coty. “It’s a sumptuous color that makes for an inviting, cozy environment. Mix it with espresso tones and creamy whites for a warm and dimensional look that is truly an elegant experience.”

This taupe paint color beautifully complements most bedroom furniture. So, if you’re giving your bedroom a major overhaul and want to start with the paint, Chocolate Mousse is a smart move.

Benjamin Moore

Benjamin Moore Prescott Green

Coty is also enthusiastic about Prescott Green. “It brings the outdoors inside with a soft, earthy vibe,” she explains. “Earthy tones are really at the forefront of design. Since technology has been predominant in home design, people are wanting more of an organic and natural feel to their space.”

The designer is a personal fan of this color because it’s such a complex shade. “With undertones of blue and gray, this powdery color adds just the right amount of life yet delivers a cool and relaxing atmosphere for bedrooms.”

Sherwin-Williams

Sherwin-Williams Tranquil Aqua

“Sherwin-Williams’s Tranquil Aqua makes for a cool and inviting bedroom,” says Coty. “This ocean blue has undertones of gray, making it a deep yet subtle color.”

Love this color but not quite sure how to make it work in your bedroom? The designer suggests choosing soft mochas and crisp whites for a layered look. “The richness of this color has a calming effect perfect for any relaxing retreat.”

Sherwin-Williams

Sherwin-Williams Rocky River

Billingsley tells me Rocky River by Sherwin-Williams, which features subtle blue-gray undertones, will be a popular color this year. “It creates a look that is both sophisticated and soothing,” she says. “It pairs beautifully with a moody blue palette and holds its own alongside jewel-toned or earth-toned accents.”

Benjamin Moore

Benjamin Moore Briarwood

Looking for a bedroom paint color that works in any bedroom, large or small? Billingsley says it’s hard to go wrong with Briarwood. “This elegant neutral, blending shades of gray and brown, exudes nuanced depth and character and works in any setting,” she says. “It provides a sophisticated and welcoming backdrop, effortlessly complementing any space.”

Little Greene

Little Greene Clay No. 39

If you have a smaller bedroom or a guest room that needs elevating, consider Clay No. 39 by Little Greene. “This warm, earthy neutral features subtle ochre undertones, capturing one of our favorite color trends for the coming year,” Billingsley says. “It pairs beautifully with layered earth tones for added depth or can be balanced with cooler accents, making it an ideal choice for a sophisticated and cozy bedroom.”
